HELP: Booking.com private reservations concerns

    Hello,

    I pre-booked 2 weeks in Albufeira through Booking.com. It is an apartment and not a hotel which means it is essentially a private booking.

    As I have never used booking.com for anything other than hotel bookings I am just a little concerned about this. The location etc is all very nice and it wasn't dirt cheap so there is no major reason for this concern other than being naturally cautiousl. There are no reviews as it is a recent addition and it is listed with other rental sites like AirBnB and so on.

    I am just worried about turning up and the owner not being there and so on and being left with the family having nowhere to go. If that did happen is the recourse with Booking.com?

    Does anyone share my concerns?
