    Hi

Have a really annoying sound in our kitchen.

There is a vent for the cooker extractor on the outside wall shown in the attachments.
Any time there is any sign of wind the thing can be heard banging constantly in the kitchen
Before it slowly drives me crazy I was wondering is there an easy way to fix it or how are these vents usually done.

Yes, use some double sided foam tape and felt.

glue a few washers or a nut to the outside of the flap. a little weight will stop the wind pulling it
there are springs on those types and it wears out after a while

Thanks folks , guessing the foam acts as dampner. Where does felt go?

Onto the the other side of the foam, tests what I did anyway.
You could just use draught excluder rubber for doors, they sell it in Dealz. Just put it on the edge of the flap
