A Swiss startup about to start issuing their own Visa platinum cards with the following benefits
    - Always free account
    - Hold multiple currencies + crypto
    - Exchange at the real rate
    - Up to 2% cryptocurrency cashback on all purchases
    https://mona.co

Monaco is going to be available globally. Rollout is planned in stages, with Asia as first step, Europe second and then North America. When your card is ready to ship, you will receive a push notification to the app and an email, requesting you to update the app and provide us with your shipping address.

    Looks interesting.

The basic prepaid card appears to be free. If you opt in for Platinum you'll benefit from the cashback and higher limits but you'll have to buy some MCO coins.

I find the staking (lockin, like a Masternode coin on a card) of MCO tokens as a requirement for all but the basic card troubling..

Does this mean that if a person transfers say an ether to a Monaco card they can then spend it in euro in a shop or withdraw euro from an atm (on the fly fiat coversation esentially) or does it just mean you can spend ether with the card?
