I'm heading up to Newry to take a test drive in this...

    http://www.morgancars.net/stock.html?car=203671360

There are plenty of mentions on here regarding A8's but no strong views either way that I've seen anyway.

Do ye think this is a good deal?
Anything that I should look our for?
The VRT is just over 5k euro btw.

(I've yet to check insurance and tax)

    Cheers in advance folks :)

I find it hard to believe a 7 year old diesel only done 4,000 miles a year? The A8s on DoneDeal are pushing 200,000km with some near 100,000km. A friend recently picked up an A6 with just over 100,000km. Seems odd someone would buy a car that's nearly €100k new and not really drive it?

All those nice pics and none of the reg plate. They even went to the trouble of removing the rear one altogether.

I'd be wanting the reg before going any further.

Will definitely get a full history check. Full Audi history I'm told

Ring the servicing dealership as well, find out if its recorded on their records not just a stamp.

Its a beaut, as is all their stock!
They seem to be a serious dealer. No chance of getting a Dacia off them.

By the time it's taxed and everything probably standing you 28k seems a lot for a 7yr old but it's not really as I did something similar 2yrs ago.
Just worried what you'd get back for it when you fancy a change again. Interior is modern but the new Audi dash is one of the best out there, could you fancy a newer one quicker than you think.

What's your 2nd and 3rd choice of car? That's a big ass statement car.

    Cheers for the reply.

My initial thoughts for a change was an A5 sportback. However they are "fairly" common and it's rare to get a Quattro and 200 bhp plus.

I started looking for Quattro and found this one. When I saw the 4.2l 345bhp I thought it would be something else to drive. Especially rare down here as I haven't seen one like it Irish reg.

It's so full of tech it's not too bad by modern standards. Plus the low mileage seems to indicate it's fairly new under the bonnett.

Yes - agree. What are the circumstances that one would buy a diesel and hold it for 7 years and only do that milage?

The 1000 euro tax is getting to me. That's the only thing telling me shouldn't buy it, it's going to be very hard shift and you'll take a serious hair cut on it. Speaking as someone who has had a 1500 tax 530d.
Honestly don't know, head says no based on co2. If it's an Audi a A7 Quattro 250bhp? ( I think they look silly from behind though).
