    Hi folks,

do any of you know if the electrical side of the ABS unit in these cars is plug and play or is coding required following swap-out ? It's the one with the integrated brake pressure sensor.

The brake pressure sensor isn't in the electrical side of the ABS unit.

Thanks for chiming in George. Audi looking for crazy money for an OEM part. Rosstech indicates a possible brake pedal switch as a potential fix? Easy to rule out and replace at insignificant cost. Failing that, would you look towards a 2nd hand ABS unit? Won't be going down OEM new replacement as cost prohibitive. Can pick up one (4F0 614 517K) for €200.

The pressure sensors don't usually cause any problems on that shape A6 so it is quite possible that the fault lies elsewhere.

You should probably get a more accurate diagnostic done before buying any parts, if you get a secondhand ABS unit it will still require coding after fitting and may not even solve your problem.
