Bought a jacket off ebay uk on Friday 29th December, it was posted the following day and I was provided with a tracking number. Got regular updates until Tuesday when the last entry read:

    "Updated on: Tuesday 02 January
    03:00pm
ON ITS WAY TO DUBLIN - FOR ONWARD DELIVERY

    In Transit
    Tracking no. RN3**234***GB
Your item, posted on 30/12/17 with reference RN3**234***GB has been passed to the overseas postal service for delivery in EIRE.

    International Tracked and Signed

    Handed to:
    Delivery partner"

So that was Tuesday, since then I've not been able to track it with An Post, I thought I might at least have received it today or even got an update on where it is, but nothing!!

Tried ringing an post today, four times, each time I was put on hold for several minutes or more without speaking to anyone!

Bit annoyed now, am I foolish thinking that something that apparently arrived in Ireland Tuesday should have arrived by now (Friday) or at least be traceable?

It does take a few days to get here, I say it might show today or over the weekend for delivery early next week

Remember it doesnt track when AnPost receive it, it tracks when they process it. If AP are slow, tracking is slow.

For some packet mail like that I dont get tracking until the postie is at the door.

Just on delivery times at this time of the year, I posted a parcel through An Post at 3pm 28th Dec. posted in Dublin & delivered in Meath Client told me he only received it yesterday Friday 5th Jan.

At times An Post really are brilliant but at other times they are plain awful

Cheers guys, still no sign of it on the tracking, both online or via the phone. Should also add I emailed an post yesterday after my four failed attempts at ringing, no response to that either, not holding my breath...

    See what next week brings.

Just an update; still nothing new, status is still the same. Rang An Post and got through eventually after waiting a long time on hold!! Nothing they can do, as far as they are concerned, despite what Royal Mail tracking says, if it aint scanned here then an post ain't got it.

So either it hasn't actually left the Uk yet or was lost/misplaced/sitting idling at the unloading are in Dublin airport. Who knows.

Was in touch with the seller, she sent Royal Mail an email but I won't hold my breath on that, tried ringing them myself today but after about seven minutes on hold, dwindling credit and freyed nerves I hung up....

    Same issue for me.
Ordered item from Germany, sent via Deutsche Post with tracking number.
Their website says its been received in Ireland but no update on An Post website or attempted delivery yet.
The item was scanned in the country of destination Ireland at Jan 6, 2018. Further tracking information is also provided by the website of the country of destination.

Happy to report my package arrived yesterday morning! :-)

The tracking updated on Thursday morning as having arrived at the Dublin Mail Centre EXT, so, it must have sat from the last scan on Tuesday Jan 2nd in Heatrow!!

Status changed yesterday morning with An Post to Carlow DSU 'out for delivery' and I got it an hour later!

    Phew..

Apologies if there are several threads on this topic already.

I ordered something from the UK early last week, I can see with the Royal Mail website that it has been sent from Heathrow and it directs me to An Post website, An Post website does not acknowledge the tracking number, does this number change or will it eventually show up on An Post tracker?

It says it was sent to Dublin last Wednesday and delivery is 3-4 working days from order which was 7 working days ago.

This is about the Irish Postal system, so this isn’t relevant if you are in South Africa. You have already posted about it in the Post from China thread. You need to contact the postal service in South Africa with questions.
