    With Facebook, if someone was stalking someone they are not friends with, they will star to appear high in their "You may know" or suggested friends list, in fact they appear very high and prominent every-time the person logs in.

    With Insta, its similar with the friend suggestions and with Insta Stories, you can see who has viewed your story.. like snapchat

    Sorry to open an old(ish) thread.

    Recently I looked up a fella I used to know on Instagram.
    His profile is public and we have never followed each other on it. I didn't click on a story nor accidentally liked any of his posts.

    Minutes after I had viewed his profile, I got a WhatsApp from him just saying 'hi'. I hadn't been in contact with him for around 3 years. This can't be a coincidence.
    This fella works in IT so I am convinced he must have some way of seeing who viewed his profile. :o

    If you post a Story on Instagram you can see who has seen it. Post every day and you can see the people who see your stories regularly.

    But the strange thing is I never clicked on a story of his (he didn't actually have a story anyway).

    There is no way to see if someone has looked at your Instagram profile - only stories. Working in IT won't change this.
