Are both connected the same way?

Both need to be hardwired or both need to be on the WiFi.

If you have a mixture then you will have problems...

Yes both are connected by wifi but the wifi doesn't seem to get extended by the main box. Thanks

Your main box should be connected to your own WiFi and then the mini box connected to the WiFi signal being transmitted from your main box.

If this is the case then that's all I can add!

You connect your main box to your home WiFi, (i.e. that you use for all other devices also).

The main box then gives out its own WiFi signal (e.g. SkyQ_123). You then connect your mini box to this WiFi.

If using wifi are there other things that can disrupt signal in your home?
    How far between units?

The boxes are quite far away and the house has solid brick walls. Thanks

I have had similar issues to yourself OP. In the end I purchased a set of Ethernet plugs and both boxes are now wired. Haven't had an issue with the signal since.
