    Hi there,

I am no longer living in Ireland and wanted to get a bit of information to help out a family member. This person is on Benefits due to being unable to work in their profession due to Epilepsy. What are the steps they can take re: obtaining some training in other basic skills. These may or may not be necessary for future employment, but can even just be a useful distraction from the monotony of being out of work.

Also wondering if there are any benefits in relation to leisure activities such as swimming, gym, yoga etc.? I had suggested these items would be a useful distraction but obviously finances are tight.

Any advice would be appreciated. Hope i am in the right place with this question.
    Cheers,

They can apply for course and colleges ,but there is no help for leisure activities unfortunately but there is nothing stopping them from taking up activities

Regarding courses and colleges, are these free for unemployed people and are they arranged through Social welfare department or directly through the college?
