Refund Issue

    Hi there

    I was living in an apartment in D15 for a year and paid 2-3 bills for Irish Water in 2014/15. I called around Oct/Nov of 2017 when I heard about the refund scheme and was told I would be due a cheque and gave my new address as I had moved. The agent gave me the amount due back and amended my address.

    People I know have been issued cheques while I haven't. I called today to and spent over an hour on the phone trying to sort this. I was told that the old address was still on the system so the cheque would not have been sent to my new address. I then was put through to refunds but the phone went dead. I called back and the line failed again. I finally got through to someone who said I had never paid a bill (!) and asked me to find evidence of my paid bills from nearly 3 years ago though looking at statements. I asked did they not issue me with electronic receipts and I was told no...that I would have been sent them in the post (unlikely). She told me that a supervisor would be in touch but I haven't heard.

    Through all of this I had tried to avail of the Irish language option to discuss this issue through Irish and didn't get any response. This has completely wasted my morning.

    Please let me know what I can do?
