Tesco are doing 2KG ducks for 10 Euro, I don't buy duck enough to know if that's a very good offer or not? The use by date is short enough but would freeze is couldn't use straight away.
Is there anything else worth stuffing the freezer with at the moment?

I think €10 is the regular price in Tesco on the 2kg duck if it's the Silver Hill one. I've seen it on offer at €8.

It's lovely, but a lot of waste on it compared to a 2kg chicken, it's tight to get 4 main portions out of it.
You're nearly as well getting 2 packs of the duck config legs if you see them on offer, and I sometimes do in the clearance shelf in my local Tesco.

LIDL selling off some of their deluxe fresh christmas stuff, I saw crab claws and crab meat reduced in East Wall... seemed to be under 3 euros now.

In tesco I only saw pouches of celebration chocolates been sold off the other day, last year I got a rake of selection boxes.

On christmas eve in tesco nothing was really discounted, in fact you would typically see more stuff discounted any any day of a regular week. Even donuts were still full price. I was there about 10mins before closing, security man had to let me out.

Other years stuff was being reduced and further reduced over the intercoms, like staff would call out "50% off all fresh turkeys" and then later "75% off all fresh turkeys".

Somebody else I know said a bit earlier they saw a woman & her daughter hanging around the fresh turkeys, and saw them later and overheard them saying something like "they mustn't be doing it this year"

I think they are giving the stuff to the homeless charities or similar charities now which is good if correct.
