Can anyone suggest somewhere to go to for a week or so from 26th December 2018 (flying from Dublin) as a solo traveller, either to volunteer or for a holiday?

I did a safari in Kenya and Tanzania a few years ago at Christmas and loved it. It wasn't expensive and flights were reasonable as well.

Last year I went to Zanzibar by myself, again flights and accommodation reasonable, but it was stinking hot. I'm originally from Australia and it seems I've forgotten what really hot weather is like! Great if you want a sun holiday as it'll be 30C with high (urgh) humidity.

Another year I did a group trip to Egypt and that was also brilliant. Woke up Christmas morning on a felucca on the nile river.

The safari and Egypt trip were both with intrepid travel who I highly recommend. They currently have a 20% off sale.

Basically the world is your oyster...what are your interests?

Go skiing, it can be pretty expensive at that time though.
