If you get planning permission for an extensive build but due to cost and the time of the build you decide to make smaller changes to the house. Would that be an issue?

ie you have permission to go five metres at the back but only go two metres at the back.

When you are finished building would you apply for retention?

Hi welcome. We obey the law in this forum - ie no discussions on retention before you’ve even started. Planning required.
