Tilt and Turn window won't close

    Evening all,

While opening our window in a storm both the tilt and turn opened and we can't close it. The closet video we found is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhITRjQPIIQ but our window is a white PVC and doesn't have the same mechanism.

    Tom.

Good luck finding someone who will fix it. I've had awful trouble finding a tradesman who will fix mine

    Are you in Dublin?

Think in the video it could be a SIEGENIA TILT N TURN system. Nightmare to get parts but they can be found.

When you have your window open at handle level is there a black type of button you can push in, it’s inside window? If you push this in you can turn handle and maybe get it closed, sometimes tilt n turn the closing eye slips out and when you turn handle the closing eye is not engaging into its sliding arm.

    Thanks Mad M

The see attached photo of handle position. Handle only goes to the straight up position. It doesn't come back to half or handle level. I didn't see any black type of button. I'm in west cork - 2 hour drive to nearest Woodies, McDonalds!

On the side profile of window is there a black button you can push and then try turn window handle?

If you think of it when window is in closed position this lever/button is closed and it lets you turn handle. Normally at window handle level it’s a black button that hits the outer windows ledge so when it’s pushed in you can operate handle.

Pause at 1:08. Just opposite handle on outside of window you will see a gold lever ( sorry may not be black) that closes when window is shut, once this lever is closed it allows you to turn handle. You can push it in and you can turn handle and try and suss out where your handle position should be so you can close window.

Thanks. I found a clip on the top of the frame that allows the window to close. Easy when you know how. Thanks for researching though.

Jesus a bit of WD40 wouldn’t go a miss on those hinges to be honest. Check the rubbers as window maybe letting in some rain to cause that build up of rust and crude.
