Just looking for recommendations for a new monitor for gaming.
Currently have this 24" 1080p LG IPS monitor
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00BSOT2LA
    which I use together with a 22" Samsung TV/monitor 1440x900.

Got a load of Amazon vouchers so will be looking to buy it there and have a budget up about £350-£400

    Current setup is a GTX970, i5 4670k and 8GB RAM.
That'll be upgraded in the next year or so.

Any suggestions? What should I be avoiding/looking out for?

My plan is possibly to keep the current 24" LG one as a second monitor so keeping the screen the same size would make sense but isn't a necessity.

I'd say the options are 1440p 60hz or 1080p 144hz with that budget. Both great in their own ways, I'd advise you to check out the pros and cons of both.

    I like 144hz but I'd personally prefer the 1440P/60 over 1080P/144.

You could probably get 1440p/144hz on close to that budget but a GTX970 isn't really powerful enough.

Yeah. I wasn't sure what way to go with resolution vs response rate.

I plan on upgrading the GPU in a year or less so would buying a monitor that exceeds my current setup be a bad thing?

I might be able to bring my budget up a wee bit.

    Currently looking at these two.

I had an AOC 24" gsync 1080/144hz monitor and it was fantastic, also had a 1440/60hz beside it but 99% of the time the 1080/144hz was my go to for gaming, also have a 970.

I upgraded to the Dell S2716DG 27 gsync 1440/144hz recently and its great buy my 970 doesnt do it justice, planning a big upgrade soon.
