    Hi,

My apologies if this is not the right place to ask...

I am considering career in guidance counselling. I have qualifications in psychology and am registered with the Teaching Council under Further Education. It's very likely that I will start postgraduate diploma in school guidance counselling at Maynooth this year, but I wonder do I need post primary teaching qualifications in order to work as guidance counselor in secondary schools?

    Thanks for you help

I presume you don't have the PME if you are only registered for Further Education. You need to have the PME to work in a secondary school.
