whatsapp reinstalled

    Hi,

    I recently uninstalled (mid Nov) Whatsapp from my android phone. I reinstalled it last night and retrieved chat history, photos, etc right up to the point I had previously uninstalled it.

    Is there any way I can receive/retrieve any new & unseen messages during the 7 week period I was offline?

    Any feedback or assistance will be warmly appreciated.

    I don't think you will be able to. If you are offline on whatsapp it cannot back up what you havent recieved or seen on your phone.

    Whatsapp servers will store undelivered messages for 30 days. If you dont receive them within 30 days then they are permanently deleted.

    When you reinstalled whatsapp if you didnt receive any new messages then it means nobody tried to contact you in the last 30 days.

    If the recipient is not online, the undelivered message is held in WhatsApp's server until it can be delivered. If the message is undelivered for thirty (30) days, the undelivered message is deleted from our servers. Once a message has been delivered, it no longer resides on our servers.

    Thank you for your replies. I naturally thought messages were storing themselves on the app waiting to be read once the app was reinstalled. I was wrong.
