Overcharged tax - what to do

I'd appreciate some advice! Basically I'm working for a company but I'm employed by a recruitment agency. I was supposed to be paid last Friday but I wasn't. This was the agency's fault as I had submitted my timesheet in the time requested.

After some badgering, I am being paid for that week. The problem now though is that I'm getting two weeks pay but it's taxed as one week. I'll be €300 down even though it's not my mistake.

My question is, do I have to wait until next year to claim it back? The recruitment company isn't answering the phone or replying to any more emails. I'm not sure what to do.

    Any advice is appreciated!

I work for an Umbrella Company that does this type of work for Contractors. If you're paid weekly, technically your pay should be run twice, once for last week and once for this week, even if the Agency missed the payment.

If a Contractor paid through my Company misses last weeks deadline by a few days, I would still process their pay for that week and then process pay for this week separately.

No. It will likely be fixed up on the next few weeks pay.

Thanks for the feedback. I got the payslip yesterday. They are definitely intending on putting it through as a single payment. I'll try get onto them again today.

For anyone interested I contacted the company and they said I'd just have to claim it back when I get my P60. There's not much else I can do. Thanks for the replies.
