    Hi folks,

I'm planning on trading in my 2016 MK7 GTI for a 2017 F30 320d. Can anyone tell me when the service schedules are for the BMW and a rough idea of the servicing costs (main dealer) . I'm just wondering if I should opt for the service plan. Any feedback welcome.

You can get prices from the BMW website for the car to get price of oil & filter replacement yourself.
You can either input registration number or car model/engine combo.
Do the sums on the service pack pricing then.

BMW service interval is usually 30,000km and what is done is usually determined via the car's iDrive computer. Service Inclusive pack is definitely worth the extra money and is good for 5 years or 100,000km but I think it can only be taken out when the car is brand new. Check with the dealer as it may already have it.

Pretty sure service pack can be activated any time before first service.
As bazz says check it’s not already on the car.if not and you’re buying from a Bmw dealer I would try to negotiate the price to sweeten the deal if you’ve not already agreed to buy the car.
Worth having if you plan on keeping the car but less so if you won’t get the benefit of it by trading again in a short time.
As matter of interest why the change?
Golf gti is a lovely drive. The 3 series is being replaced at the end of this year too.

Thanks for all the comments. @ carsfan, reason I'm changing the GTI is that it's a 3Dr and we now have a new addition to the family so I need the extra doors. Plus I have racked up nearly 55klms on gti since new and at that rate it will not be worth a whole lot in a couple of yrs if I hold onto it. The Gti PP has been a brilliant car for me though and I will be sad to see it go.

    Congratulations on your expanding family,
I had a gti pp too before my current 3 series and enjoyed it.
I would get the service pack if you’re planning to hold onto the car.

Thanks for the advice. I will push dealer to get the service plan thrown in.

I thought they'd decreased it from the 30k recently as the long life didn't suit diesels and was causing issues?

I've an f10 520d and get oil changed every 13k or so, don't wait for 30k as understand it's bad for engine.

Think it was around that figure. When I had my 5 Series in with the main dealer for a service the last time they set the service interval to 25000 km.
