Would you go 530 instead less of a time bomb engine wise. Way higher VRT though.

The best examples will probably be from the main dealer network but there may not be as much value from them.

There are plenty of them in the UK but like any car there are good examples and there are poor examples. It one's cheap then it's usually cheap for a reason. Manual versions are worth a bit less than automatics because they are less desirable. 525d from 2012 onwards is worth a look at too, its 2.0 twin turbo and has a bit of extra punch over the 520d.

Go on to www.autotrader.co.uk and put in holyhead postcode LL651AA and search within a radius of whatever distance you are willing to travel.

Although to be honest you'd be mad to limit yourself to any part of the UK, search nationwide and get the best car you can in your budget for the sake of a few hours drive. After all, it will be a decent first spin for you.

Huge range of 520d over there, like here it's the most popular model by a long way. I defo recommend the m-sport

It's also worth noting that the 5 Series got a facelift in mid 2013 where it got better standard equipment such as sat nav, Xenon headlights, etc.
