Would be my first saloon. Have a Peugeot 307 1.6 HDI at the moment.
Looking at the Astra and Scoda Octavia. Hyundai out of price range.

The Octavia is a hatchback.

Astra saloon is a model generation behind the Astra hatchback.

So have you made any progress in your search for a new car?

Are you buying new or old?

A Renault Fluence or the new Megane Grand Coupe are worth a look. Should be able to but a year old one now if you are buying second hand. The Megane Grand Coupe replaced the Fluence saloon.
