Laptop takes ages to turn on

Hi guys. I have to keep pressing my laptop on and off again for about 20 minutes before it will boot up properly.

Before it does that, it turns on and I hear a clicking noise inside the laptop and a screen pops up asking how I want to boot if up. None of the options work. Eventually after turning it on and off, it will just boot up as normal.

Also sometimes the WiFi will go and simply never connect or find any other network.

I'm thinking I need to replace my hardrive as that's where the clicking sound seems to be coming from and I'm aware that inside a hardrive is a spinning mechanism

Yeah, clicking noise can indicate a failing hard drive. If you get it started again, the first thing you should do is copy off anything important if you can

It will always start up eventually. I rarely used it in the past 12 months so never bothered to do anything with it.

At least I know the problem now. Would that have a connection with the WiFi issue?

No the wifi issue would be separate. That issue could be due to a failed wifi card, what laptop is it?
