Anyone played both? Thinking of joining one or the other - they are a similar ish price. Millicent is handier as it's closer to me but it seems awful long. I'm not a huge hitter so Naas might be better? I'm going to play both shortly but anyone have any advice? Thanks

From what I know it's very very hard to get a game in naas when you want, it's not the place if you like to pop out for 9h on summers eve expecting no major delay. My brother is in Millicent and there is always spaelce to play at your leisure, Palmerstown would be a good option too as it's very quiet most of the time and you can pretty much play whenever you want to

Thanks for that. I forgot about Palmerstown. Does it have a small membership? It's a similar price too I see. Must have a round there too. I played Naas a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it but it was very busy and it's mid winter so I suppose you're right about it being very clogged in the Summer. It was a nice length for me, there are a good few crazy long par 5s in Millicent.

Palmerstown membership is about 350, there is always space on timesheets and casual golf is very easy there. It's worth a look and would certainly be the best facility of the 3, there has been whispers of an irish open in the future so there is ambition there.

350 for palmerstown (I assume the old pga) is great deal.

I thought when it was taken over a couple years back it got a load of members in?

The only issue with the palmerstown (from memory) is that it's difficult to play just 9 as the course doesnt come back to the clubhouse until 18th hole..

Naas is a cracking course but is nearly always packed but that's cause it's so good.

Millicent is an ok course but I think some of the holes are a bit nothing - but alot to be said for just being able to play a few holes at your leisure..

    Have you looked at Killen?

350 members I think he means not €350

Have played all 3 and would have to say Naas, only ever played it in opens and never any issues getting out(although sheets would be full) and was never slow.

Played it just the once this year and changes will really trick the place up.

Hello all. In a similar position to the op. Moving to the Naas area soon and looking to join a course in the area . Have played most of them over the years but looking for any info on timesheet availability. practice facilities and general club atmosphere .
Anywhere from Craddockstown to Slade Valley would be in range. I am an 11 handicapper and not looking for a massive test but rather an enjoyable course of a decent standard.

Have you considered the Smurfit course at the K Club? Never any issue with being out anytime. Great members and great course. Complimentary practice area, including range balls.

Castlewarden. Drop me a PM if you want more info. I’m a new member since this year so no bias.

Member in castlewarden too. If you're under 40 they do a lifestyle membership for around 800 or so. If not, it's probably comparably priced with the others on your list.

Has a good membership & atmosphere in the club house in general. I've never had a problem getting on the timesheet. Brian, the Pro, is also available for lessons & is a sound man.

They've added a driving range in the last year. Also has a putting green and chipping green. Should be getting practice bunker back in place in the next year.

Its a decent test off the blues, css usually a couple over par. Off the whites its very playable but enough there to punish you if youre wild. Put a good bitnof money into the course in the last few years to improve bunkers & to cut down some trees.

Thinking of joining Craddockstown myself, anyone know anything about the course /facilities / clubhouse?

I'll hopefully get over there for a game in the next few weeks.

Newbridge at 670 euro is also in that general neck of the woods, very active club with something nearly on every day what. i played it a few weeks ago thinking it would be soggy not at all, quietly impressed i have to say, super greens for December.
