SIBO

    Hi everyone,

Has anyone been diagnosed with this? I searched and found one thread in nutrition where one person wondered if they had it.

I've had gut issues for the past year with the most significant symptom being a considerable amount of bloating that doesn't go away. I've been diagnosed with coeliac disease, Marsh 1, which is the least serious, though at my last gastrologist appointment he thought that since my symptoms didn't disappear that there was likely something else going on, he suggested SIBO for example and I tried a 2-week course of medication (became 3, long story) and my symptoms cleared up about 80-85%. Having finished the course, within a few days, they returned. But I'm surprised at the possibility of a supposed bacterial overgrowth being able to withstand and return from a heavy daily dose for a real total of 3 weeks. I'm planning on a GP visit to look at getting back on the medication again.

Has anyone been diagnosed with SIBO?
