Not sure if there are, but don't forget to avail of the HRI scheme where you get the VAT back over the following two years by an increase in your tax credits...

There's no grant for Windows but as stated above you can claim the 13.5 percent vat back or offset it against your tax.

It's very important that you inform the window company that you want to claim the vat back at the time of getting the price. They need to be tax cleared. They need to fill in your details online before you can claim anything back.

I've read threads here where people get jobs done from tradesmen not registered for vat or are behind on their taxes. It's only when the job is done that they realise that they can't claim the vat back.

Everyone needs to be on the same page before any work takes place

But they're unlikely to pay for a new deck and a Jacuzzi....
The Housing Aid for Older People Scheme is used to improve the condition of an older person's home. In general, it is aimed at people 66 years of age and older, who are living in poor housing conditions.

And unless your windows are in a pretty sh1te condition, they probably won't help you with new windows either ....
Local authorities have been instructed that only essential repairs should be undertaken to make the property habitable for the applicant.

The HRI scheme has finished now so you can no longer reclaim the 13.5% VAT
