GPU upgrade - RX480

Hi,
as my current GPU is on the verge of dying, I decided to look around for something to replace it. After many articles and bench tests, decide to go for RX480 4GB. That was on Monday evening, as I was quite busy, I didn't have time to shop until today.
I was in a quite shock to see that all the stock from Amazon was gone. Now I could use some unknown to me shop in UK, but I would prefer something known and tested.
The question is, risk the UK shop or maybe go for 1060 3GB?
There's a small difference in fps, but 1GB vram could be useful one day.
My current rig is
I5-2500K@4.5GHz
8GB Ram@1600MHz
GTX670
Benq 24@FHD
My budget is around 250€-/+

Overclockers.co.uk are good so are aria and scan and there are a few others as well I just cannot think of at the minute.

To be honest I completely forgot about Overclockers, still the same result. No RX480. Weird. In that case ill go for 1060.

If you plan keeping the card as long as the GTX670, I would suggest just getting the 1060 6GB. The 3GB version is fine, usually about 5-15% slower, but already performs much worse in one or two games due to the lack of vram - imagine what that'll be like in two years or so.

Not surprised you're having problems finding the 480 as it's last years card.
It's the 580 you should be looking for.

Im a cheapskate, thats why I was looking at RX480. On monday I saw one for around 210€, I regret that I didnt buy it then.
The 1060 6GB is around 280€-300€. I wanted to spend less than 250€, probably wont be replacing the rest of compotents till end of next year so 3GB/4GB should be enough for now for 1080.
RX580 is just RX480 with boost to clocks, new number and new price.
Prices are jumping like crazy in last few days.

Prices have been crazy for the past half a year; I remember telling people to buy RX cards when they were dipping into €170-180! :eek:

Just checked one of my fav sites, they put what to buy list every month. Some prices rose up like 10-15%, in extreme situations some gpu's and ram prices went up by 20%. Thats crazy. Im not sure should I buy now or wait. The card is still working, ill just wait and see what happens to prices. Ill sell one kidney and buy 1080
