Heating issues/boiler

    Hi guys

No heat or hot water, the gauge on central heating boiler is at zero, I'm aware this should be 1-1.5. The normal way of fixing this is to use the tap in the hot press where other boiler is, however, when I turn this tap on to pressurise the system no water is coming out. I usually hear the water flushing in but not happening now, and the gauge on the central heating boiler is still at zero

Any help appreciated I'm freezing :)

Pics of gauge area and filling valve area might help.
    Gas boiler?

Yeah gas boiler, here's some pictures

First pic is gauge, the pressure is at zero.

Second picture is cylinder boiler which i use to fill the gas boiler up when pressure drops. However, when i turn the black tap on there is no sound of water coming from the system to fill gas boiler up

I don’t see anything to indicate that water isn’t getting through. Perhaps a pic of the area at the other end of flexible filling hose?
Also follow the feed to make sure there isn’t another valve in the off position. I am also assuming that you know that the valve in the pic is in off position.

When i first turned the valve on a little watwer came through, then stopped. The gauge is now just up over zero and heating is on, however im still away from te recomended 1-1.5. The water is not coming out at all now when i turn the valve on?

Yes the black valve is off im aware of that, there is only one valve in that press?

    Thanks

Any chance that "black tap" is seized? As in, only the plastic bit is turning, not the actual valve itself.

when i first turned it a small amount of water rushed in, thus, I now have the heating working. However, how long will that last as the gauge is just up over zero.

Edit: the gauge is now at 1.5 after aprox 30 mins of the heating being on?
    Edit it's now at 2.0

How often have you needed to top up?

also looks like the red handled valve is leaking

Was a few months since last top up,

Is the red handle suppose to be ion or closed it seems to be in middle? There may be a slight bit of wet on pipe
Actually I think it's just stained wood

Had gas man out about two months ago fitting new fan to gas boiler

Perhaps the one way valve on other end of braided hose is sticking. With black valve on, give it a good tap of a heavy screwdriver handle or similar. With the pressure going to 1.5 from 0 when hot, I would only pressurise to about .75 bar until system has been looked at.
