You'll be a long time selling all the parts to make some money

    Not necessarily.

Buying the right kind of car at the right price and selling the desirable bits there is money to be made.

Selling "all" the parts would be hard but nobody expects to sell them all.

If you want to make a few quid, I'd say go for it, it'll be interesting for you if you have a bit of free time and cash, there's a lot to learn though so do your homework.

In terms of the cars, you can sign your name to them no problem. The only problem is getting them home.

The thing about popular cars is that they rarely break down or need parts.

The Fixxer upper thread might give you some indication of what people would be looking to do up.

I'd recommend a running car that was out of NCT, over a non-runner. You don't know why it isn't running and there'd be less certainty a part someone is looking for will work.

A car that age is worth feck all so people won't spend money on repairs. So people aren't going to spend a lot of money on parts. The other issue is that the parts people will be looking for are parts that wear out and your 2nd hand part will be in the same nearly the condition.

There used to be loads of scrap yards around years ago, now there are very few. Cars have become disposable items now, not helped by government scrappage and insurance issues, so people don't repair now they replace. Most drivers in their 60s could work on their cars, as they had to, how many people under 40 know how to check their oil?

How are you going to get a non running car, or any car considering that you can't drive, back to the yard you are using to break it?
