Hi I am writing on behalf of my mother in law who is elderly and invalided. She received her Irish Water refund cheque but does not have a bank account. She has a savings account in An Post - can she lodge it here? She does not want to open a bank account. Is there a way around this.
    Kind regards

    Hi parkeral,

    Thank you for your message.

Yes, the cheque can be lodged in the Post Office, as long as the Post Office account is in your mother in law's name.:)

    Kind regards,
    Agata

    Hi
I inherited my old family homes many years ago and have let it for a nominal rent. I pay any associated bills myself. When the water charge refund cheque issued it was in my tenants name ( I had paid it), he endorsed it and gave it to me. When I went to lodge it the Bank would not accept it. He does not have a bank or post office account. Any realistic suggestions as to what I can do, he does not want to open an account soley for this.
