Trying to get my head around all of this so apologies in advance

Hive v Next v Honeywell v anyone else to consider

I understand that with Hive or Next you are restricted re zones and it is essentially upstairs or downstairs whereas with Honeywell it can be as many as you want (so each radiator can be its own zone if you wanted).

Comments and words of warning and enlightenment welcomed.

Also anything else that people think we should consider at this stage ? House will have alarm and CCTV.

    House undergoing rewire and replumb.
Gas heating. New condenser boiler (I think)
I calculate 15 radiators in total

    GROUND
    Extension - 3
    Utility - 1
    WC - 1 (towel rail)
    Living - 1
    Sitting - 1
    Hall - 1

    FIRST
    Bedroom - 2
    Landing - 1
    Bathroom - 1 (towel rail)
    Bedroom - 1
    Bedroom - 1

    ATTIC
    Attic - 1

    total - 15

    Hi,

I installed Evohome into our house earlier this year, very simple and works well. We just went for a basic system to control our existing zones, living areas, bedrooms and finally hot water. Have to say its a great system, and once you sort out any comms issues between the stats and controllers ( actually very easy to do ), you just let it do its thing.

The app is great to, very simple and works like a champ.

Two really good places with lots of info on Evohome ( including actual Evohome Techs ) are http://www.automatedhome.co.uk and the forum on https://theevohomeshop.co.uk ( very good prices here as well ). There is also a guide that one of the Techs did here http://youlearn.honeywelluk.com, well worth a look so you can see how it all works and how to avoid any comms issues.

I'm actually going to go the whole hog next month, and get the radiator controller stats for all the rads, we have 15. Main reason for this is we have rooms in both zones which can be set much lower than others, and also the towel rails can be heated independently for summer use etc.

    Best of luck,

    Murph
