    Hi all,

Looking for a mechanic in Dublin to take a look at my mark 5 golf.
Last time I went to drive it, the engine started to overheat and the air con only blew cold air. I returned home and the cars been sitting at the house ever since.

    Would anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks a mill,
    Uberbeamerman

Check the coolant level in the expansion tank first of all. If the level is visible, pop the blue cap off whilst the car is running and see can you see coolant coming into the tank via one of the hoses. Just some basic checks you can do yourself. If you can’t see any coolant in it, top it up with tap water and see does it circulate through the hose now. Also check if it’s leaking, just look underneath the car whilst it’s running.
