Sky+ HD Box - Problem with recording :(

Installed a Sky+ HD Box today, and added a broadband router.

However, when I record a programme I can’t watch any other channel except for the one I am recording.

A message appears saying ‘Your Sky+HD Box isn’t getting a satellite signal. Your recordings in the Planner and the On Demand service may still be available’

Sky’s help forums haven’t come up with any solution.

    Please help!

Check the lock indicators on the signal page. More than likely one of these is showing as not locked. You can then tighten the correct cable at the back of the box. If your still having issues you may need someone to look at it.

Worth checking if its set on the single feed mode... On the remote press Services, 001 and then Select. Under the setup tab scroll down and ensure that single feed mode is off. If it's on change it to off and dont forget to press green to save and the box will reboot after that.

The ‘Single Feed Mode’ is off, but it is still the same. :(

I’m wondering is it something to do with satellite feeds - perhaps an extra cable needed from the Sky Box to a HDMI port in the back of the TV?

The box needs two feeds from the dish. If you only have one working connection you will get those results. Nothing to do with the HDMI.

You can check to see if you have a signal on both inputs, go services, settings, signal. Then if one shows no signal, check leads at back. Its possible the inner core was cut too short and has shrunk.

    report back
