Does anybody know the highest record for job applications for position/s in Ireland? It 'll have to be a p.s. job I presume, maybe during the just post bubble period. Thanks.

I'm not trying to be snarky, but both public sector and private sector have the abbreviation "p.s.", so it's helpful to spell it out for clarity. :)

I remember once instance of something like 8 - 10,000 applications for a very small number of retail positions in one shop during the austerity years; I can't remember the exact figures or the name of the outlet, but it was some crazy figure like that.

There were over 2000 applications for 5 roles for a job I went for before (Public Sector), so roughly 400-1
They did, however, then use the pool of candidates to hire some additional roles afterwards

Applications for the Gradai are usually about 20,000 each time it is applied. Has been much higher in the past though I believe.
