    Hi.

I am looking for a bit of advice.

We currently have a 6 year old Citroen Grand Picasso which thankfully has given us no problems but is certainly getting no younger and the opportunity to buy a Ford Grand C-max 2016 has come our way. Its the Titanium model which as far as i can tell is pretty well specced.

Now to set the scene. We only have 2 kids 12 and 8 and only use the third row occasionally for there friends or when the grand parents are over. We like the big boot on the Grand Picasso and its reasonably comfortable.

Does anyone have any opinions on the Grand C-max ? I will be going to see it next week but am looking for opinions and experiences from those who have owned them. What are they like day to day etc.

    All help and opinions welcomed.

    Thanks

I used to have one of these. 2011-2015 - I bought it new and it was a bisic model. It is well designed and it sold on well. I don't often have many passengers so only occasionally used the third row of seats.....there is very little leg room in the third row, but being able to hde away the middle seat of the second row (which is a tiny seat anyway) was handy for access to the third row. I found the engine inadequate at 95 bhp, and that is the main reason I didn't go for another one. I replaced with a Kia Carens - and as I can fit three adults in the back, I have never used the third row of seats. At 115 bhp, the power is enough for me. I find the Kia slightly harder on diesel, and slightly more comfortable (seats are hard in the C Max), but I loved the sliding doors in the C Max.....brilliant when you're in a car park! I found the C Max a good car, and apart from the issues I have mentioned, I would recommend it.

Have a 2011 version of Grand C-Max and subsequently bought a 2016 version of the standard C-Max. Grand C-Max is great for the sliding doors. The third row is useful for small kids but would be very limited for older kids. In saying that it would probably be useful for the odd trip where a friend is coming along. Test drove 95 PSI version previously and had to say it was gutless. The 1.6 it's quite adequate power wise so one should ensure that it has a full service history with regular oil changes etc. Overall very nice car to drive very maneuverable and would definitely buy one again.

    Thanks for your replies.

We took it out for a test drive yesterday. It is a 2l diesel with 150bhp and it went really well with that engine. Plenty of power on tap for overtaking.

The space and seating suit us well without being overkill. We really only use the third row about 5 times a year for short enough journeys.

Hopefully the wife makes up her mind whether she can cope with it being black . she prefers bright colour cars normally.
