How come barely anywhere is selling the New 3DS XL?
Is there a new revision due out or something?

Amazon UK only has 3rd party suppliers?

Argos /Gamespot /Smyths have maybe one SKU each
What gives?

Well you'd better cover your ears so. There's a rumour that Nintendo have either ended or are very shortly ending production of the New 3DS XL and that they're just concentrating on the 2DS models.

Pretty much everyone is abandoning 3D at this point
Samsung, LG etc are dropping 3D lines of TV’s

It’s well past peak gimmick and time to move on.
Nintendo are probably making the right move, in conjunction with current tech and consumer trends
