    Hi,

I am in no mans land when it comes to broadband. End of limit for distance from exchange which means I can get max 1.5meg. No hope of 4G due to equi-distance from mobile masts with no LOS thanks to living in the drumlin belt.

What I would like to know is, if I signed up to NOW TV for example, can anyone out there recommend a reliable capture SW tool which can save the stream so that we can watch it at our convenience? There seems to be a lot of applications out there but wondering if anyone could recommend anything from experience? Don't mind paying if it does the job.

I should have mentioned I have media PC set up an the intention is to save to the HD

    Thanks

Netflix used to provide a means to save downloads for later viewing.
I don't know if they still do, or even if they offered that in Ireland.

Might be worth checking out as an alternative.

Have you considered taking steps to resolve the broadband problem. I.e source your own mast to put a receiver on it

Many people take the installers no for granted and just give up. You could take it into your own hands and try put in a mast somewhere on your property to put a receiver on it.

Depending on what you want to watch you should be able to get Freesat (or possibly even Freeview if near the border and only small hills) Freesat recorders allow you to share recordings.

NowTV is done by SKY who are past masters at blocking restricted content.

Check if any of your neighbours closer to the exchange can get decent BB and then try to link by WiFi if direct line of sight to them. You can use MMDS dishes to extend range.
