    Hi

    Bought a showergel/shampoo dispenser .
Need to mount it on tiles in shower.
It comes with 3m tape but the tape from reviews seems to easily come off.

Was looking to affix to the tiles with screws.
If mounting in shower is there precautions to take to water will not seep into wall?

I am assuming to get a good tile drill bit and anchor plug but wondering is this different when mounting in a shower due to level of water it will see.

Just put some silicone around the screw holes on the back of the dispenser.

Get some 3m VHB tape from Ebay or Amazon, clean the tile with a scotchbrite pad and detergent, rinse dry and wipe it down with Meths and then use the tape. It won't come off.
3m is very strong stuff much better than the double sided foam tape that is commonly supplied.
Its used for cars to attach wheel arch covers and the like which get wet and do 100kph which is a fair test.
I'd rather avoid drilling holes in a waterproof wall if I could.

Thanks , the unit came with VHB 3M tape.
What does the detergent and the meth do , does it increase the adhesion?

It ensures a clean surface, the problem is that many people just peel and stick, the tiles can have any kind of stuff stuck to them from manufacture and the adhesive will never bond to the surface, by using a scotchbrite pad and detergent you mechanically remove any contaminants, then the meths removes oils and greases.

Fairy liquid is good, any really just as long a it can remove dirt.
Just make sure the area is spotless. Its can't be too clean and dry.
You can use a hairdryer to warm it as well to help the adhesive to bond.
