    Hey folks,

Posting here as I'm sure there's a few experienced sellers here who've used postal services.

I've acquired a PS4 off the brother. He was going to sell it but I gave him an offer. Anyway, I'm only home visiting and I've the problem of getting the PS4 back to the UK. I am flying but it could be difficult getting it back through the airport. I've already got full bags going back. I don't fancy it on the hold as I've had electronics broken through the hold before (probably through manhandling).

An post want nearly 50 euros to have it posted. Surely there's a cheaper way to get it to the UK?

You could parcel motel it to yourself.

You fill in the details online, print out the address slip and drop off in your local motel. They will collect it and deliver to the UK address for about €15.

I would have it in the middle of the bag surrounded/wrapped in clothes. I have no doubt sony would have done very extensive drop testing on the likes of a PS4, many of which will be sold online and so shipped around the world.

If you go down the postal route you will want to minimize packaging or it will cost a fortune, and therefore be at the same risk. You could always slap some sort of fragile labels on your bag too, just print them on A4 paper labels and slap all over the bag. I have had to carry boxed fragile items on planes too, and had them in boxes labelled, no reason labels cannot go on a suitcase.

Once in China I had a bottle of spirits taken from my hand luggage, presumed it was seized/gone but they actually wrapped it and put it in the hold, came out first on the belt, still intact! it was very obviously a bottle too, I got some strange looks from the crowd gathered waiting around the belt :pac:

As you said, you've your suitcases already full.

Why not make some space posting not-so-delicate (and maybe less valuable) items, doing so make enough room for a console? :)
