Hi, just making sure before I pull the trigger on this Christmas present for myself :D Currently have a i5 3550 and Gigabyte 7970. Looking to upgrade to a 1060 and maybe get a i7 3770. Just wondering if my 400 watt PSU will be okay or would I need to upgrade that too? Thanks in advance and happy Christmas :)

1060 draws a decent bit less power than the 7970. CPUs are both 77W TDP so no change. You have a net reduction in power draw.

Also pro-tip: you can under-volt CPUs to use even less power & heat.
