    Hi

I need to get it to a garage but zero chance I can get looked at until after christmas so see if anyone has any idea what might be wrong and if safe to drive over until I can get looked at.

Car starts right up but after maybe 1 or 2 minutes if driving it goes limp and eventually cuts out. I let sit for maybe 2 minutes and it will start up again after several attempts. After that it drives and starts normally and does not cut out again. Started happening yesterday and just worried if I should just avoid using car over next few days just in case I get stuck on side of road. Engine light just came on after last spin into town.

Any thoughts as to what is going on and

    It is a 2l diesel.

Would need a fault reader to diagnose what the problem is. Could be DPF related if your driving the car on small drives around town all the time, I'm not sure if there's a seperate warning light for the DPF or if just the engine light would come on with a fault. Is the engine temperature gauge showing a high temperature?

there is a seperate light for DPF and it is not coming on.

I filled it up with diesel yesterday and took it for a longer spin thinking that's all it needed.

My gut feeling is that it related to last time I put fuel in it. I was holding pump for what seemed an eternity and when I looked at gauge only was at about €10 as was filling really slowly. I got tired waiting and just paid for what was already in and went on my way so could I have gotten the end of a tank at the station and the fuel is just bad/dirty?

    No other warning lights.

No worries - will probably just avoid using over coming days just use OH's car.

Perhaps a clogged fuel filter, any idea when it was last changed, do you know if it was replaced with a genuine Nissan one? This thread might help too?

All fixed and turned out to be a leaking fuel line. I had them replace the fuel filter at same time just in case.
