    Anyone using Stelara for psoriasis?

Just started on it - but was told not to expect any results until Ive had at least 3 injections of the stuff. Notwithstanding that, Id be interested to hear from others who have experience with it.

Was told to expect side effects such as lower immune system. Has this presented a difficulty for anyone?

Hi. I take it for Psoriatic Arthritis. My psoriasis alone isn't severe enough to warrant biologics. It really is quite mild. Just on my scalp and nails.

I started to develop PsA symptoms 6 weeks after the birth of my twin boys who are now almost 4 and a half. Running around like lunatics!

    -symptoms started Aug 2013
    -diagnosis in Sept 2014
    -start Humira Oct 2014
-humira starred to loose efficacy Jan 2016.
-Switched to stelara in June 2016.
-i could come off daily anti inflams and painkillers (tramadol/paracetamol mix) in Sept 2016
    - so far so good, stelara is working well for me. Fingers crossed!

I still have psoriasis but nails are not as severe.

With regards to lower immunity, i used to get chest infections twice a year at least when working in office environments. Before diagnosis and biologic treatment. I think I've had one infection since that required anti biotics. So I am actually less "sick" these days but I don't work outside the home. I am unable to. Fatigue is a killer. I often find colds etc come on me and I take a high dose vit C and this helps stop them in their tracks.

It is important to listen your body. Don't do things just because other ppl do them and are grand. Occupational Therapy has helped me realise that I can't do the same as others and they're just the cards I've been dealt.
