David Lyons has signed on to star in the Netflix cop drama Seven Seconds. Lyons will play Jersey City cop Mike Diangelo, who heads up the department’s narcotics squad; he’s joined by Beau Knapp (The Nice Guys), who co-stars as a newbie cop who signs up for Diangelo’s squad.
Seven Seconds, from The Killing creator Veena Sud and based on the Russian movie The Major, focuses on a standoff between Jersey City cops and the city’s African-American community after a black teen is critically injured by a police officer. The show’s first season is set for ten episodes.

Something happened on Statue of Liberty's doorstep. Looks like it'll be atmospheric anyway. Arrives Feb 23rd.

Hmm, Veena Sud who ran the remake of The Killing is behind this, so yeah, might be a bit frustrating.

Yes, I'm just about to start ep 4 also, but it's really drawn out. I can't imagine how the next 6 will go.

    episode two

I thought it was a bit of a slow burner. Really picked up towards end of the season and I wanted to watch the last few episodes straight after each other. Definitely worth watching.

    Episode 7

    Hrmmmm,
    3 episodes left
It's either, somebody has yet to die... they get off with light sentences.. or it's about proving that it was DiAngelo that made the call not to help the kid and so that was murder and not just any murder... premeditated murder if it turns out DiAngelo actually did check and knew he wasn't dead.... oooh maybe the witness will remember this!

Finished over the weekend ,disappointed with how it played out in the end.
He should have hung out D'Angelo to dry

    talks they'll do a season 2 with different plot/characters

Episode 8. I was not expecting that!

    Episode 9. I didn't know
where she was going with that. Right up until she said it and then it made sense. I thought she was going to be talking about where the bike ended up or something.

I enjoyed this how right up to the end, I honestly can't remember the last time I felt so let down by the final act of a show

Was that because it didn't go the way you wanted it?

I enjoyed this show and don't think it really needed a second season.

No it just felt completely flat, zero payoff.

A lot of build up wasted....hang on, how do you know what way I wanted it to go??

I don't, which is why I asked... I saw a number of people though express disappointment with the ending - and this is a big spoiler people so don't look unless you're finished:
complain that they didn't like that D'Angelo basically got off. No justice, nothing changed. They wanted him to serve time.

I was initially thinking, "That's it?" myself but I kind of liked it in the end because it echoed the frustration of many of these cases. They don't have neat tidy closures.

Just finished. It was a decent show.

The overall plot-arc was let down towards the end of the final episode when
it felt to me like they were coming out with: oh by the way.. even though it looked like we clued you in about the crash at the start.. we hadn't fully clued you in. Right so, you didn't have to but ya didn't have to break my connection with the overall plot-arc by doing it that way.

    The two biggest plots which
    did get me were:
    - the connection between Fish and Nadine. They gave both an introduction, gave some explainations of their preconceptions and prejudices and built up their bond for the audience. Then the impact of her death and how it hit Fish hit hard.

    - the seagulls. That was a well done overall plot-arc. They introduced the seagull on the Bike in the first episode and kept it going in varying ways through the season. Then it hit home hard in the last episode when Seth explained to Isaiah that it was because it was a memory Brenton had kept from their day out when he was young.

As for (the now cancelled) Season 2, my guess would be that:
    - Someone higher than DiAngelo got to Jablonski. Either money or violence or both were involved. Him looking at the baby before the verdict and then for Marie and the baby afterwards had me thinking it even more. He wouldn't get trialed again I think.
    - for more trial stuff, it would've been around DiAngelo, Osorio and Wilcox. Their involvement with Brenton, the death of Nadine and more broader with the drug dealing was where I think they were going with that.

Finished this a few weeks back.

    Just ok if I'm honest.

Maybe 6/10. Decent show without being great. Agree with a few here, also felt like it ended a bit flat.

Also agree that the ending was disappointing, but still worth watching!

Just came across this recently, finished it last night.
Definitely worth watching. Was quite dreary and sad at times, especially when dealing with the boys family. I see some complaints about the ending, and I don't agree. Not going to spoil the end, but I likes that the some ends were left hanging loose, and not all neatly tied up in bows.... for me it left me thinking about how a case like this would play out in real life.

A lot of unlikeable characters in it....
