Norwegian air : EU261 - Extraordinary Circumstances

Flight from Dublin to Rovaniemi, with a stop in Helsinki. The Helsinki- Rovaniemi leg got cancelled and was offered next flight (next day).

They sorted out a hotel in Helsinki, but what was supposed to be a 3 day Lapland trip, became a 2 day Lapland trip.

At the time they sent a text message that the flight was canceled die to crew not having sufficient hours to fly that day.

When I submitted for EU261 compensation, they cited :
"an earlier disruption within our network that had a direct effect on this flight. The original flight was disrupted due to acute illness amongst our crew.. This is considered an extraordinary circumstance and therefore we are unable to honor your claim for compensation."

Research I have since done, is pretty clear that this is NOT considered an extraordinary circumstance, which I told them , but they won't budge.

Also, no mention of sick crew at the time, and the crew was waiting with us at the gate ...

Where do I go next ?
    1. I could choose one of the claim chasers on the basis 70% of something is more than 100% of nothing. But I don't like the whole compo claim culture these companies represent. I feel very strongly entitled to compensation though as my actual Lapland trip was cut short by 1/3.
    2. I continue to fight my own battle and put more effort and time in it.. But where do I start ? Is this for the courts in Ireland , where I started the journey ? In Finland , where the cancellation happened ? In Norway , where the company resides ?

Does anyone have any experience with getting this compensation from Norwegian, as apparently they rank very high in denying genuine claims

    Resolver.co.uk

You get 100% of the money owed (not 70%) and the form they have is very simple and easy.

Have used them a couple of times. No complaints.
