Has anybody ever had to get a background check through HireRight?

I have a conditional offer of employment from a place that uses HireRight, I filled out a few basic forms asking for things like Name, Address, length at address, I submitted the contact number to the records and admissions office because I am still taking classes at my local community college. Anyways as far as them checking your past employers how does that work? it asked me for my last three employers, contact number, and title and length of employment there, how does HireRight find that out, and do they just go based off the information you entered or do they have a data base with your resume, also what does the requesting employer see on the report they get, do they see the info you provided or do they just see a pass or fail grade.
