First off, I'd like to wish all the members of the forum all the best over the Christmas period and into 2018.

It's been a busier year than previous years on the Roads forum as we finally see some bit of life coming into the road development plans in Ireland.

This year we had the big opening of the State's longest road scheme to date, the 57km M17/M18 Gort-Tuam project. We also had continued progress on the M11 Gorey-Enniscorthy and N25 New Ross schemes. September saw the beginning of the M7 Naas/Newbridge Bypass Upgrade scheme. We also had continued progress on realignments on the N17, N52, N55, N63, N56, N76, N86 and more

In addition to the three schemes continuing into 2018, we have a number of schemes to start in 2018 (major schemes in bold):

    N2 Monaghan-Emyvale Phase 3
    N4 Collooney-Castlebaldwin
    N52 Ardee bypass
    N56 Coolboy-Kilmacrennan
    N56 Kilkenny-Letterilly
    N56 Mountcharles-Drumbeigh
    N59 Westport-Mulranny Phase 2 (Kilmeena)
    N61 Coolteige
    N67 Ballinderreen-Kinvara
    N70 Kilderry Bends
    N80 Maidenhead
    N81 Knockroe

We all look forward to the beginning of the Dunkettle Interchange upgrade in early 2019 and hopefully further progress on the M20 and the new wave of schemes in the new 2018-2027 Capital Plan.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the forum in 2017, especially those who uploaded photos and videos of progress. Special mention to m17 for all his contributions over the course of the M17/M18 PPP project.

    All the best,
    marno21
