    Hi,

The specs for the Yamaha RXV583 show that it passes all current 4K video signals so should pass 4K video from any 4K source and it will upscale other sources to 4K as well. As for your current amp "... only Max's out at DTS" DTS refers to the audio output of the amp, nothing to do with passing 4K video - the RXV583 will do audio in
    DOLBY ATMOS
    DOLBY TRUEHD
    DOLBY DIGITAL PLUS
    DOLBY SURROUND
    DTS: X
    DTS-HD MASTER AUDIO

So that would be a super upgrade.

The link you included to Savins shows they're pricing this at €599 - this AV receiver can be got for about €429 from Richersounds, which is a substantial difference - see here http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-202698-rxv583.aspx, they deliver and have a forum here on Boards, so its worth shopping around if you're going for this.

    Hope that helps,

    Ritz.

It depends where you're located, I'd say its a long shot at this late stage, you could always ask on their forums here: https://www.boards.ie/ttforum/1105.

    Enjoy the new toy,

    Cheers

The dts limitation is nothing to do with the audio output of your amp. It's because you are using arc, and arc maxes out at DD or dts. It does not do the hd audio tracks. The new amp you are looking at will suffer the exact same limitation if you continue to use arc.

Route the HDMI sources directly to your amp first, then to the TV, to avoid the problem. Or wait for a very new amp with EARC which will handle the hd audio formats
