The Astra Demo loop channel was visible on channel 998. It's not on the EPG though

    Think was removed recently

My TV is LG UHD smart tv with the BBC iplayer app. I just had to use UK postal code.

I don't mean via the internet but live feed from satellite directly.

It's a fairly safe bet that any 4k channels on UK satellites will be sub only. The only FTA 4k on the European sats (13&19) are shopping channels and 'Fashion TV' if you like endless catwalk shows. Obviously there are demo channels but they are just rolling loops.

Well, there is FTA UHD demos on 12441.00 V 29500 8/9 you can add this to other channels. I think it was the Freesat Demo until September this year.

    Thank you,
I have done that and found 3 UHD Demo channels, one is "SES UHD Demo" and the other two are "Astra UHD Demo".

    demo channels only
The only 4k FTA on other sats is shopping channels, Fashion TV and NASA 4K which looks great but soon gets very repetitive.

Considering Sky expect you to pay for HD, you can't expect anything decent in 4K for free

I wonder with the launch of the new freesat boxes (4k capable) will there be a bbc 4k channel or will it be limited to streaming?

You would imagine they would launch one channel. They seemed to once have a bbc hd channel that covered content from a mix of their channels.

A few years back BBC used to have a test 4k channel on 19E, and of course have normal commercial channels on 13E, but nothing of interest on 28E

    Demo UHD channels FTA

    Astra UHD Demo
    SES UHD Demo

I think that is all there is on 28.2E
