Winning streak used to get a revamp with new games and new format every couple of years but it seems to have had the same games and format now since about 2009, who is to blame for this? RTE or the lottery ?

It's beloved of auld ones who don't like change. If they had their way, it'd still be Mike Murphy and the Amiga-level CGI of the gold mine.

The OP said that Winning Streak didn't seem to have changed in years... well, now it has. ;)

Not only are there new games, but there's a new title sequence and theme tune for the first time since the show went to two presenters in 2008. The National Lottery have also, quite rightly, gone back to using a single WS logo for both the show and the scratchcards. And the Canadians have become that bit more generous, as in a throwback to Derek Mooney's era an extra €100,000 segment is being added to the wheel each time that amount or higher isn't won. :D

Obviously, some things have stayed the same, and not just Marty and Sinead - the good cause segment, High/Low Share, the Wheel Reveal, "Spin! That! Wheel!" and the confetti all still feature in part two. ;)

Speaking of Derek Mooney's era, YouTube user jflitter has uploaded two full episodes, from 2001 and 2006 respectively:

Sure was different with one presenter rather than two, the use of computer graphics for many of the games, and even a mascot of sorts (though Streak was never destined to make *quite* as big an impression as Mr Chips or Bully).

Some things hardly change, though - the relatively high average age of the contestants (no ageism intended), the banners in the audience and, of course, the wheel. ;)
