    Hey guys,

About to buy a insert after months of deciding what to get,
Now I'm not sure should I get a flue also,.

I've high temp 8in flue with the twist in already, that was packed with vermiculite.

Do I also need a flue to go down that or just a 8in adapter?

There is a belief that if you have a new house, you don't need a flexi flue for a stove. This is wrong. You can have a chimney fire that destroys your chimney after a year in a new house.

The idea of the flexi flue is to keep the chimney from getting too cold and to allow it to heat up quick.
When the chimney is warm the gasses and smoke are drawn up and out fast.
When the chimney is cold(standard 8"flue),the gasses and smoke are slow to move and create creosote which can cause a fire.....clean your chimney often if you don't have a flexi flue.

I'm not sure what you mean by "flue with the twist in already",but it seems you have the cold problem solved with your high temp flue with vermiculite.
The other issue is the 8" width of your flue and the recommended flue width of your stove....stoves usually need a 5 or 6" flue and when you increase the diameter to 8",you increase the draw, when you increase the draw you will have heat being pulled up and out an this is very important in an insert stove.

another thing that affects the draw is where you live.large buildings or trees nearby or an exposed windy area.all these will affect the draw making it stronger or weaker.
If i was installing an insert,i would put in the recommended size flue all the way to the top......if there was a problem with too little draw,it could be taken out easily
