    Delia is no Nigella but I'm sure she is so much better in the kitchen. Was watching Delia making traditional mince pies earlier. She referred to adding mince meat to a couple of the recipes - apple, mince meat & nut strudal, mince pies etc. Have I been on this planet for the past 40 years only to realise now that mince pies have actual animal minced beef in them?

    So the issue is - ignoring the disappointment about this not being a long lost video of Delia getting saucy - that there is sometimes mince meat in mince pies?

    Proper order. Always assumed there should be. Get rid of that concoction of hellish dried fruit and herbs and replace with sausage meat.

    Well they can be made with beef suet, but I much prefer a good lock of butter in my mince pies

    Delia was followed by Rachel Allen... although I preferred Darina Hilda Allen... but I'm still amazed that beef is part of the recipe for mince pies (although the name should have been enough of a clue).
